Etna is active again - level 2
Europe’s tallest and most active volcano, Mount Etna, has erupted. It sent a
huge cloud of smoke and lava into the sky. Airspace had to be shortly closed in the area, but the local population was
not in danger. The only problem was the ash. This was the 14th time that Etna has erupted in 2013. The volcano is very
often active, but the last big eruption was in 1992. Difficult words: huge (very big), lava (hot
liquid rock which gets from a volcano), ash (very soft grey
“sand” which appears when something burns).
