A volcano on Mexico’s west coast erupted. The smoke reached to heights of up to 2,000 meters. The volcano has had 30 periods of eruption since 1585. This latest period should not be dangerous.
However, the surrounding area is on yellow alert. That means that residents should be ready for possible evacuation.
The volcano often attracts scientists because it is always rumbling.
Difficult words: erupt (to be active and let out smoke/lava/gases), period (a portion of time), rumble (to make a deep sound).
