Many bees on a road - level 3
A buzz in the air over East China’s Zhejiang Province, as millions of bees swarmed above a motorway in the area. The incident happened after the truck carrying them was involved in an accident, and around 100 beehives were thrown open and scattered across the lanes.
As keepers tried to encourage swarms back into the hives, transport police said they’d sealed off the motorway to protect other drivers. And while they managed to coax many of the bees back onto the truck, beekeepers left some of the hives in the road, in the hope that the swarms would return to them overnight.
Difficult words: a buzz in the air (“a buzz in the air” is when a lot of people are talking about something and “buzz” is when the bees make a buzzing sound – this is a joke), swarm (to fly in big numbers), beehive (bee house), scatter (to break into many pieces over an area), keeper (a person who takes care of animals), encourage (to make somebody to do something), seal off (to keep people out), coax (to make somebody to do something),
