World’s ugliest dog - level 2

Over 50 years ago, the ugliest dog competition started in Petaluma, California, in the USA. It has stayed popular since then as it gave out an award each year to the ugliest dog.
This year, a dog with a short body won the award. Organisers of the competition said that despite his short body, the dog likes to jump and to play. They also said that his appearance teaches people to accept differences.
Many of the dogs in this year’s competition came from animal shelters.
