People help cold sea turtles - level 2
In North Carolina, a cold snap sent temperatures below freezing in parts of the state. People found over a hundred cold-stunned green sea turtles.
People took the turtles to a rehabilitation facility. After the turtles got better, they took the turtles to warmer waters and released them back to the sea.
Turtles and other animals, like snakes, are reptiles. These are animals which cannot control their body temperatures. Turtles get cold-stunned when water temperatures drop below 10° Celsius.
