Hello, my name is Kristie Johnson. I live in the USA in the state of Mississippi. I really love teaching ESL, especially conversational English. Part of my studies and experience as a counselor, included understanding how people learn and communicate. Effective communication is so important in our lives. It can help, or hurt us, whether we want to build our career, a strong business, or even strong personal relationships. But learning a second language is hard. I know because I am working on it myself. I make a lot of mistakes and sometimes I am embarrassed to try and say foreign words. So I really believe that making learning fun is a great idea! When you can enjoy classes it doesn't mean you are not learning. Having fun, even laughing sometimes can even help us learn more easily. I don't believe that stress and worry make it easier to speak a second language. Whether you are a beginner, or an adult who has studied English for years, it is important to practice and build your confidence in speaking. And if you are just a beginner, don't worry. This is a great way to start. When you learn English basics and practice speaking English at the same time, it can be much better. So if you are an adult beginner, or want to get your child started early learning and speaking in English, I would love to have you as a student. Thank you for your interest my classes. |

Hi my name is Christina and I am from Minneapolis, Minnesota in the United States. I am a teacher at NIL English. It would be a pleasure to find out what your educational needs are and help you with your goals. I am presently enrolled in a graduate studies program called TESOL which stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. My bachelor's degree is from the University of Wisconsin with a focus on English Literature, Writing and Art. I enjoy teaching, learning about other cultures and education. I have experience in teaching, primarily in the age ranges of 3-12 years old, however I have also worked with adults in helping them to design curriculum's for their classroom and teaching strategies for their individual students. I do have children and feel that being a mother has been instrumental in helping me learn approach and style-ship in teaching on a more individual basis. I have learned, as a parent, that what works well for one child does not necessarily work well for another. I hope I have been able to bring that knowledge more fully into my teaching abilities. I would love to get to know you or your child and find out what works best for you as an individual. Some of the English knowledge that I have to be able to assist you in learning includes the following: grammar, structure, reading comprehension, pronunciation, annunciation, increasing vocabulary skills, and writing. I can also help you edit your papers if you would like to submit them online. I can help you design your voice in the paper better, either casual or more colloquial in format and help you make your papers more solid and effective. It would be my pleasure to be able to be your teacher, get to know you better and help you achieve your English language goals. Thank you and have a great day! |
| Malena P. Education: Modern Languages Major with emphasis in Foreign Relations, St. Andrews University |
|
Hello, my name is Malena. I currently live in Florida in the United States. I am a native English speaker. My strengths are kindness, patience, and understanding. I am dedicated, flexible, creative, and compassionate. I have an energetic and strong-willed 4 year old daughter. She is my life. We love to have fun, use our imagination, and play outside. From a very early age, I was interested in other cultures. By the time I was 10, I began what soon would grow to become a beloved hobby. I became a penpal (penfriend). I was actively writing, sending small packages, and audio recordings. My friends were from all over the world. In 8 years, I had collected more than 42 penpals. I still correspond with several of them. They have become like family. In high school, I attended foreign language classes. I was a member of the Polyglots Club, French Language Society, and President of the Future Educators of America. I participated in language competitions where I was scored on several key points, including pronunciation, comprehension, and accent by native speakers. So, I fully understand what challenges students face when learning a foreign language. I attended a small, private university in North Carolina due to its larger population of foreign students. I majored in Modern Languages with an emphasis in Foreign Relations. I traveled abroad and completed independent coursework while living in Switzerland. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, I was unable to complete my degree. I left school with less than a year remaining for my Bachelor’s Degree pursuit. In the years since college, I have traveled to several different countries and have taken independent study to learn other languages. I firmly believe that the limits of your language mean the limits of your world. I have worked as a daycare teacher. I have a passion for teaching and helping others. I love meeting new people. Throughout my career, I have taken the role of trainer and mentor. I want to help others succeed and reach their goals. Together, I can help you reach yours. I look forward to meeting and working with you. Malena 선생님 수업영상입니다. 해적관련스토리북 수업이라서 해적분장하시고 수업하셨네요~ 아이에 대한 애정이 듬뿍느껴지네요~

Sophia D. | ||
Hi there! My name is Sophia. I’m a native English speaker who currently lives in the city of Vancouver in Canada. The first time I started teaching English was when I was 13. I was employed to teach English-speaking schoolchildren from ages 6 to 8 for several summers. These adorable kids had a reading and writing deficiency that was below their age level so my task was to instill confidence in them and encourage correct pronunciation, vocabulary and sentence structure. From then on I’ve also gained experience working several summers as an English Conversation Partner for Korean and Japanese children who were visiting Canada to improve their English. Currently I am working with children who have special needs and have trouble expressing their thoughts and feelings. I am in school studying Art History and Philosophy right now. One day I plan to obtain a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology with the aspiration of becoming a psychotherapist and help people with emotional problems. One of my core values in life is personal growth and being a lifelong learner. If one of your goals for personal growth is to learn and improve your skills in the English language, I will assist you in reaching that goal. My teaching style is creative and dynamic. i’m also adaptable to your learning style and will go at a pace that is comfortable to you. I’m compassionate and patient as well. One of the main perks of learning with a native speaker is that you can be corrected promptly for accent problems, learn colloquial expressions you can’t learn from textbooks and be amended before small errors turn into big mistakes. I will also guide you to achieve your other goals in learning English. I hope we speak to each other soon! |
| Daniel B. Education: Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo in the State of Ohio. Post Graduate Degree and Teaching Credential in History, Geography and Government from California State University in Fullerton, California. |
|
Hi, I'm Daniel and I live in the city of Mission Viejo, in sunny Southern California. When I was growing up, my father took a few sabbaticals to different countries and I was lucky to have lived in Brazil, Portugal, Israel and Germany. It was then, when I learned about the different countries I lived in and visited, that I wanted to study history and the different cultures I experienced. Through the course of growing up I studied the French, Portuguese and German languages as well as cultures. I have also taught in a large high school in California. I taught US and World History. While teaching I encouraged my students to read, for at least 30 minutes a day. I preferred they read the newspapers, because their English vocabulary would increase and they would also be familiar with current events from around the world. In school and in life, whether here or there, reading and verbal communication is crucial in our daily lives. Communication is the backbone of society and it will be my pleasure to assist and help you learn English. See you soon. |
