Cyclist on a motorway - level 2
A cyclist rode on one of Britain’s busiest motorways. He said that an app on his phone advised him to do so.
The man was first spotted by a security camera in Tuesday morning’s rush hour. At times, he even crossed lanes. The police used the cameras to watch the man. Later, a policeman was sent to him.
The policeman talked to the man and made sure that he was safe. The man said that he didn’t know he was doing anything wrong. The cyclist was informed about the legalities of riding your bike on the motorway, and he was fined £50 for contravening a road traffic sign.
Difficult words: rush hour (the time when people travel to work), legality (law), fine (make somebody pay for having done something wrong), contravene (to do something which is not allowed).
