Big storm in Sydney - level 2
Last Wednesday morning was one of the warmest and sunniest days in Sydney that week. But in the afternoon, the weather changed.
A storm swallowed up the light and created a dark sky full of rain. Many people had umbrellas, but they were not very useful. Other people gave in to the rain.
Travelling by roads was slow and buses were late, too. Some flights to Sydney’s airport were diverted to other cities.
Difficult words: swallow (absorb), gave in (stop fighting and let the rain hit you), divert (to change the direction).
