These shocking images show a little girl who was reportedly kicked in the face while in a playground at her local school.
Lacey Harris, the mother of the girl who has only been identified as AvaLynn, posted images of the child on Facebook after her attack at Arlington Elementary School in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
AvaLynn had come home that day and told her mother that she was kicked in the face by another student until she fell off a slide in the playground.
She suffered from two black eyes, a swollen mouth and a bloody nose.
While the Facebook page claims that improper supervision is one of the reasons behind the incident, Pascagoula School District officials argue this is not the case.
The school said in a statement that no other children were involved in the incident, and it remains committed to the safety of all its students.
The police have filed a report but said that no criminal activity took place and are not investigating the incident.
Lacey Harris has now set up a GoFundMe Page for AvaLynn to help pay for medical bills and has already raised almost $10,000.
