Police catch a Chihuahua – level 3
Most dogs are content with chasing tail, but this thrill-seeking Chihuahua was clearly more interested in a police chase.
Running along California's Bay Bridge, the little pup took the lead on his tiny legs with his competition following closely behind on a motorcycle. Reports were made of a dog running in the eastbound lanes of the bridge. And despite weighing in at only 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms), the Chihuahua gave California Highway Patrol a run for their money until he was eventually able to be cornered and taken to safety.
And the officers have even given him the nickname "Ponch" after the character on the old TV show "CHiPs". Officers are looking to reunite the dog with his owner and are appealing to anyone with information to get in contact.
Difficult words: content (happy), chase (to run after something and try to catch it), tail (chasing other dogs or running in circles), tiny (very small), eastbound (leading towards the east), give somebody a run for his or her money (to compete very well against someone).
