Here is some good news from East Java. An orangutan is born. He is born on Valentine’s Day. The baby orangutan is special. He is a Borneo orangutan. Borneo orangutans are not safe. All of them may die out soon.
The mother protects the baby. People cannot get to the baby in the beginning. After some time, they get to the baby. They name the baby. His name is Dana. A vet says that the mother and the baby are fine.
Orangutans are apes. They live in Asia. There were a lot of orangutans in Asia in the past. Now, there are between 45,000 and 69,000 orangutans in Asia.
Difficult words: be born (to get out of the mother’s body), die out (there will be no more animals like this), vet (doctor for animals), ape (animal which is like a monkey without a tail).
